DZ Ep 13: Marine Corporal Matthew Bradford

Marine Corporal Matthew Bradford signed up for the military after 9/11. While in Iraq and just weeks away from the end of his tour, he lost both legs and his eyesight to a roadside IED.

Today, despite his disabilities, he runs adventure races, climbs major mountains, hikes miles and generally inspires the rest of us to make the most of what we’ve been given in life.

Matt’s riveting story of service, sacrifice, love and healing will literally changer your life. He recounts, moment by moment the incident in which he lost his legs, how he met and fell in love with his wife who would help nurse him back to health, how he became one of the very few amputees to actually re-enlist and go back to theater of war.

Today, Matt works with other wounded warriors as they return home and work to adjust to the changed circumstances in their lives. From a dusty road side bomb in Iraq to sitting in the gallery as the special guest of the President of the United States for the State of the Union address, this highly decorated veteran will make you proud to be an American and encourage you to reach for your greatest dreams no matter how difficult the circumstances you find yourself in.

Honestly, this is one of the most inspiring episodes we’ve ever done.
