DZ Episode 11 – Leland’s Dad Shares Stories of 40 Years of Ministry To The Tohoho O’Odham Nation

About 40 years ago, my parents left their life in central Kentucky and headed west to spend the rest of their lives in full time ministry among the beautiful Native American Culture of the Tohono O’Odham Nation in southern Arizona.  It’s where I grew up. It’s where my lifelong friends remain today. That desert and it’s people are home to me, as much so as the rolling green hills of the Bluegrass state. My parents founded a private Christian School and my dad pastors an Indian Church. It’s been an incredible blessing to have these dear people as a major part of my life and I am excited to have my dad join Cameron and me as he shares the stories of challenge, blessing and yes, “disruption” from a place that struggles with poverty and addiction – but a place that also possesses a precious history and a culture of openness and love despite their struggles.
